Mayor Daniel Pearl, Deputy Mayor Tina Schiaffino and Trustee Todd Svec joined with the American Legion Post #1066 and Sgt. Peter F. Colleran Post #7763, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and elected officials for the annual Memorial Day Parade and service in the Massapequas to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedoms.
Joining the parade this year were dozens of community groups—including Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the Massapequa Fire Department, and the Massapequa International Little League, among others.
The Village Board also had the opportunity to welcome Veterans, including Sal Valenti (age 97), Terrance Kreicer (age 97) and Anthony Cirenza (age 103) and thank them for their service.
