The Village will celebrate its Annual Earth Day and Beautification Program on Saturday, April 20th. For over twenty years, local groups have come together to clean and spruce up the Village. Call Village Hall at 798-0244 ext. 111 to volunteer your time.
Sgt. Peter F. Colleran Post #7763 Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post #1066, in cooperation with the Village, will conduct the Annual Memorial Day Parade in the Massapequas. The parade will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. on Broadway and Commonwealth Avenue in Massapequa; moves south on Broadway, east on Clark Boulevard to Park Boulevard to Front Street and travel west to Brady Park. Come join us in paying tribute to those who made the supreme sacrifice in defense of our nation. Anyone interested in marching in the parade can contact Village Hall at 798-0244 ext. 111.
The Village’s Annual Independence Day Parade will start at 10:00 a.m. on Lakeshore Drive at Walker Street and continue south onto Park Boulevard through the Village to Front Street. The event will feature marching bands and local community groups. Call 798-0244 ext. 111 for further information.
The Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 15, will once again sponsor Irish Night in Brady Park. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and be treated to a night of great entertainment. Irish coffee, soda bread, hot dogs, soft drinks and beer will be on sale in addition to Irish Knitting and memorabilia.
The Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of the Island Council, together with the Village of Massapequa Park, will sponsor the Annual Halloween Costume Parade on Sunday, October 27th in Brady Park. Registration for the parade will begin at 12:00 noon and the parade and judging will kick off at 1:00 p.m. Costumes will be judged on creativity, originality and execution. Prizes will be awarded in four age groups: (1) under one year old, (2) one to three years old, (3) four to six years old and (4) seven to nine years old. There will be a Grand Prize for the best overall costume. Dress up and come to enjoy the day!
Come gather around Village Square for the Annual Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting. There will be entertainment at the showmobile by the Massapequa High School Cheerleaders and Kickline. Remember to be on the look out for our special guest, Santa, who arrives on his magical sleigh.
The Village’s traditional Holiday Open House is a wonderful event for the entire family. The Children can enjoy the music provided by students from our local schools. Each child leaves with a goodie bag.
